Welcome!
My name is Miss
Fisher and I am so excited to be teaching you this year! I will only be Miss Fisher for part of the year though, as I am getting married and will soon be Mrs. Kathrein (rhymes with Frankenstein)! I grew up in Latrobe,
PA but moved to Myrtle Beach after living in Charlotte for a few years. I attended Coastal Carolina University where I received my
Master’s Degree. I have also recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Instructional
Technology Integration from the University of Maryland. I look forward to
sharing my love of history with you while incorporating new and exciting
technology in my teaching!
Things I Like:
I enjoy
researching my family history and will soon complete my application for the
Daughters of the American Revolution. I also enjoy researching the history of
Horry County and South Carolina in general, reading historical fiction and
mystery novels while on the beach, playing with my three dogs, decorating (and
redecorating) my house, going on picnics and sitting on my porch.
On My Bucket List:
Take a tour
of Sherman’s March to the Sea (from Atlanta to Savannah)
Tour Virginia extensively and visit as many historical sites from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars as possible
Drive all 1189 miles of Highway 17 from Florida to North Carolina
Go to Disneyworld
Adopt a few Japanese Silkie Chickens
Ride in a hot air balloon
